I sit here and listen to his rantings, as any dictator who has no purpose. He wants to give us a way out, a way to survive with him and pledge loyalty and he'll keep Jim alive. I know Khan lies and Jim wouldn't want anyone to sacrifice for him but I would if it is necessary. The viewscreen is out and there is now no hope to finding out about Jim's health.
