Story Notes:
I want Post-Series Ray/Benny stories do bad but considering I can't finish the ones in my head. So in the mean time, I guess these drabbles will do.
Fraser watches through his goggles of the landscape, the snow whips around in fast swirls around him. Everything is pure white, cold and the man is escaping, gaining more and more distance into the white ether. Fraser starts to follow his prey. He stops in mid-walk, listening to the sounds the wind composes but is already turning around, searching behind him over the vastness of snow because he's not hearing the background sound from the man he'd been adapted to living with for so many years now.

He pushing the goggles up and sees red for the first time in a long time.

His heavy boots are unconsciously running, makes messy deep impressions in the other direction, away from the convicted felon and towards each drop of dark blood that he passes until it becomes bigger and wider, creating strange circular patterns in the snow until they all converge under a body wrapped in stylish dark beige tones and the new skullcap of his partner's winter wear.

Fraser stops, drops to his knees and doesn't breathe until he turns the body over and see the body struggle for breath. Fraser doesn't look back for the criminal, doesn't care anymore he just picks up Ray as gentle as a fine glass and carry him back to safety. Fraser looks down in his arms as Ray's chest barely rises up and down he thinks, "As long as Ray breathes... as long as he breathes..."

Fraser thoughts are linear: He knows Ray needs to keep breathing, Ray needs help, needs a hospital, he will stay alive, and no clothes will be unnecessary for burial in at Ray's funeral, Ben need Ray to be fine for his world to work. His duty is second to the needs of Ray.

But the man in his arms must live, to bitch, ketvech, moan, whine and everything in-between. To make his life crazy, to make his life kind.

To make Benton happy.

Because if Ray dies, there will be no one to stop Benny from exacting his revenge.
